Bali's island neighbors to the east: Nusa Lembongan, Nusa Ceningan and Nusa Penida are still part of the Bali province and culturally very similar to their big sister to the west. The religion is still Balinese Hindu, however since these islands are so small the culture of the local people revolves around the ocean and other rural lifestyles. Besides tourism, one of the main industries in Lembongan, Ceningan and Penida is seaweed farming. Most of the product is shipped to China and Japan and used in cosmetics and can be used as fillers and thickeners.
