Tirta Gangga water palace located in East Bali was built in 1946 by the late King of Karangsem. Interestingly it was almost entirely destroyed by the eruption of nearby Mount Agung in 1963, however has since been lovingly restored and has an air or authentic royal magnificence.
The centerpiece seen below is an eleven tiered fountain and there are many beautiful carvings and statues adorning the maze of gardens.
The Water from the Ganges is the literal meaning of Tirta Gangga and it is a site of some reverence for the Hindu Balinese.
The watery garden is a peaceful pleasure to wander through and a meaningful cultural experience.
